I am currently part of the Geological Oceanography Lab at MLML and work with Dr. Gary Greene in the Center for Habitat Studies where I am currently characterizing marine benthic habitats. In Spring 2001, I graduated from California State University, Monterey Bay, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Systems Science and Policy.
Since 2001, I have traveled to the San Juan Islands, Washington, and Boundary Pass region, Canada, to process multibeam bathymetry data onboard the Canadian Coast Guard vessels R. B. Young and R/V Vector with the Geological Survey of Canada and Canadian Hydrographic Service. These data will be used to characterize rockfish habitat, identify geohazards and produce geologic maps.
My thesis research involves the characterization of sediment waves in the San Juan Islands region and their potential as habitat for migrating fish, such as salmon.
I am enjoying my graduate studies at MLML and welcome the opportunity to pursue a career in the marine sciences.
