| The Center for Habitat Studies at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories is working on a cooperative project with the Geological Survey of Canada; the SeaDoc Society; NOAA Coastal Services; the University of Washington; and, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, to characterize marine benthic habitats in the shallow and deep waters of the San Juan Islands, U.S., and Transboundary region of Canada, based on the collection and interpretation of state-of-the-art high-resolution multibeam bathymetric and backscatter data; side-scan sonographs and these interpretive products; and, sub-bottom profiles. |
 |
The objective of this web site is to make the digital data sets produced by this project available to people who will use them to improve the health and sustainability of living marine resources in the region. Also, we make these data sets available to geologists looking to map faults and potential landslides.
